Gender in the Workhouse: Links

Old Bailey: This link provides primary sources from the courthouse that paupers of the time period would have attended. This database also helps with framing the court’s proceedings in a variety of ways, one of which relates how gender functioned in the proceedings.

London Lives: A scholarly project aimed at collecting and organizing data about poor people living in London during the Industrial Revolution. There are many useful tags related to gender and the workhouse.
